Biography

Jesin Koyipurathu, CFA, is a portfolio manager and head of global macro strategy at a German bank with 15 years of experience across investment banking and global macro portfolio management. He built and runs a proprietary global business cycle & macro framework that identifies cyclical regime shifts and uses these signals to adapt asset allocation across major asset classes. He began his career during the eurozone sovereign debt crisis, managing large sovereign bond portfolios. Over the course of his career, he has navigated several full macro cycles as a portfolio manager. He is an expert panel member of the ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research providing monthly input for the ZEW Index on economic conditions in the United States, Europe, and China. In the past, he also served as a consultant to the CFA Institute. He holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Bonn and is a CFA charterholder.
