Biography

Matthew Simpson, CFA, is managing partner at Wealthspring Capital. Prior to co-founding the firm in 2019, Simpson was the head of the US Credit Solutions group at MUFG (Mitsubishi), the largest Japanese financial institution. Prior to MUFG, he was responsible for Fixed Income ETF and Preferred Equity trading at HSBC. Previously, Simpson spent a considerable portion of his career at Deutsche Bank, where he was a managing director responsible for the global portfolio management of the interest rate, foreign exchange, and credit risk of the structured products business. He received a BBA from Loyola University Maryland and is a CFA charterholder.
