Biography
Ravi S. Bhagavatula, PhD, CFA, is the founding managing partner of WFA Global Investments. With three decades of finance experience, he manages alternative investments, including structured products and systematic multi-asset strategies. He holds an integrated undergraduate and master’s degree from IITK, a PhD in Physics (dynamical systems), and a global EMBA. He entered the financial industry following his exposure to computational finance while he was a post-doctoral fellow. Bhagavatula is also a seasoned early-stage angel investor and has seed-funded a range of innovative startups such as ideaForge and Nexus. His interests include co-creating the future by actively advising and developing diverse technology platforms and initiatives.
The presence of power law returns in angel investing, with the potential for significant contributions from a handful of investments, has implications for portfolio construction, investment strategies, and diversification.
