Biography

Rohit Goel, CFA, is partner and head of Global Macro at Breakout Capital, an asset management firm investing on behalf of pension funds and global sovereign wealth funds in emerging markets. He leads the team responsible for country selection, portfolio allocation, and hedging, and he contributes to the firm’s thought leadership publications. Prior to joining Breakout Capital and until April 2022, Goel held senior roles at the International Monetary Fund, where he led sections of the Global Financial Stability Report and contributed to revamping the global financial stability monitoring framework. His research has been published in books, academic journals, and financial market publications. Goel serves as Vice Chair of the International Investing Group at CFA Society New York, is a full member of the Economic Club of New York, a member of the Bretton Woods Committee, and a non-resident fellow at the National Council of Applied Economic Research in India. He holds a BTech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
