Beyond the Conference

Posted In: Archives

As a city that is rich in both history and culture, Edinburgh offers unique opportunities to visit some of Scotland’s most famous monuments and castles. We have organized a number of opportunities for sightseeing and other social activities outside of the conference sessions so that delegates can make the most of their stay.

Conference delegates have the opportunity to play golf, go sightseeing, or participate in a number of activities on Wednesday afternoon including horseback riding and afternoon tea.

Partners and Guests Also Welcome

This year’s program also offers two social event packages for partners and guests of conference delegates to experience the excitement of Edinburgh.

The Opening Speaker and Evening Networking Receptions package includes access to Liaquat Ahamed’s presentation on Sunday evening, followed by a welcome reception at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa. It also includes the Tuesday evening “pub crawl” at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, where participants will have the chance to enjoy a variety of ales, a whisky tasting, and lively Scottish entertainment.

The other package features breakfast at Edinburgh Castle. Following breakfast, visitors will go on a guided tour of the castle before it opens to the general public and can explore the castle on their own afterwards. The tour includes a viewing of the Scottish crown jewels and the scepter and sword of state of Scotland.

Additional Resources Available

Tourism representatives will also be available at the conference to recommend additional places of interest and to help delegates and their guests to discover Edinburgh’s finest restaurants and attractions.
