Staff at inside investing is always happy to hear from potential authors, from other editorial teams that are interested in syndicating our content, and from our audience.
This page spells out some general guidelines for reaching out to us, and a few tips for helping us respond to you thoughtfully. If you’d like to reach out to us but are unsure if you fit neatly into one of the groups spelled out below, please go ahead and do so, but it may introduce some delay in responding to you.
We are always interested to hear from members of our audience. Please feel free to contact us with comments, questions, or suggestions!
To date, Inside Investing has largely grown its author base by invitation, and expects follow that model for the foreseeable future.
However, that doesn’t mean we are not eager to hear from qualified authors interested in sharing their content with our audience. Our authors typically have attained the CFA Charter, but we are willing to consider publishing the work of thoughtful people with all varieties of education. Our chief criteria for author selection is original thinking, combined with the willingness to express that thinking in a well reasoned fashion.
If you hold those two qualities, please feel free to reach out to be considered as an author. In order to help us out, it would be helpful if you could include:
- Links to a few of your previously published works, or attachments with some of your writing.
- A summary biography or a synopsis of your career.
- A list of the areas that you are interested in or that you focus on professionally.
As well, from time to time we allow our contributors to write on topics that are obsessions of ours. If you don’t have a current body of work, please feel free to write something following one of these prompts. At the moment, they are:
- The difference between investing and speculation
- The role of financial technology in investment decision making
- What you believe about investing, but know that you could never prove.
We regret that we are unable to respond to every email, but will take pains to get back to you. If you have not heard anything back after a month, please feel free to submit again.
We are interested in speaking to editorial teams around the world who would like to run our content, with attribution and a link back to the original, on their own sites. We have a standard document that we use for these arrangements, and are always interested in engaging with other teams. Please reach out if that is of interest, and we can begin a conversation.
