IASB to Investors: Help Us Shape Financial Reporting for the Future (Video)
The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) needs investor input on what it should work on to improve financial information for users of financial statements (i.e., investors). The IASB has designed a survey for investors to provide their input to its recently released agenda consultation (A Request for Views: 2015 Agenda Consultation).
CFA Institute recently sat down with IASB Board Member Patrick Finnegan to get his take on why the IASB needs to hear from investors on the standard setter’s agenda. Finnegan discusses:
- the current agenda consultation
- where the IASB stands on previously identified investor priorities, such as financial statement presentation and disclosures
- how other corporate reporting initiatives and technology are influencing the IASB’s strategy and agenda-setting process.
Take a look at the video and complete the survey, which closes 15 December.
If you would like to provide more extensive commentary, the consultation is open for comment through 31 December, and letters can be submitted directly to the IASB.
